Exercise and anxiety

I have recently become very interested in healthy living and have noticed some unexpected results.

Exercise is known to have a wide variety of benefits, including a 'mellowing of the mood'. This means that just 20 minutes a day of aerobic exercise can have the effect of elevating a depressed mental state and reducing anxiety and can last the entire day. I had heard this, ad nauseam, from friends and family for years. It took about a month of working out regularly, combined with eating real foods, for me to realize exactly how true it is. I suffer from generalized anxiety but have needed less medication recently and am thrilled about it!

It's one thing to hear it, it's another to experience it for yourself. And it's pretty simple too; 20 minutes a day of walking, running, swimming, or any exercise that you can get yourself to do!
